Turtle gets new flippers

Yu, an approximately 25-year-old female loggerhead turtle, has just received her 27th pair of artificial front legs at the Suma Aqualife Park in Kobe. It is thought Yu lost her front legs during a predator attack. Being able to swim only at 60% efficiency, the new flippers are designed to be less painful then previous versions and increase Yu’s mobility in the water.
